more improvements being made, week of June 26, 2017

There are a lot more improvements being made here at Findlay Country Club!  The overgrown flower bed next to #1 tee has been cleaned out, tilled up, and sod has been laid over a majority of the soil.  This should be completed by the end of the week.  Our new tractor was ideal for this project and operated flawlessly. Our irrigation system also saw an upgrade with the addition of a new jockey pump.  The one being replaced has been in operation since 1995.  A portable winch was used to lift out the old pump and lower the new one down into position.   A new addition to the cart path next to #2 tee along with the repaving of old cart paths from  #1 green through #3 tee will allow for a much smoother ride and gives us a nice, clean look.  The turf that was removed for the addition next to #2 tee was used to sod a majority of the flower bed next to #1 tee. Welcome to our new blog page here at FCC.  I am so excited to be back and be a part of this wonderful facility!  There are so many positive things currently going on at the club and I want to share with you a few of the improvements taking place out on the course over the past month. Tim Stumpp and his hard working friends at Blanchard Valley volunteered their time to come help us with our spring plantings. They were kind enough to come out multiple times and enjoyed every minute of it. On the course we were busy cleaning up our bunkers to give them a crisp,  clean look. The addition of new stone along the river bank is a nice touch.  Here are some before and after pics. Eric does a great job topdressing greens.  This cultural practice provides a thin layer of topdressing sand that will help to provide a smooth, firm putting surface.
